In this article, we list and review some of our favorite Pinterest boards for ESL students. Many of these boards can be helpful to teachers also. To see and follow these boards, click on the links provided.

What is Pinterest?

Pinterest has quickly become one of the most popular ways for people to share their hobbies and interests. Teachers and students use it to share and find resources for learning. On Pinterest, you can build boards (pages) and pin websites, pictures, texts, and graphics onto your boards.

Pinterest accounts are free and easy to use. If you do not have a Pinterest account, you can sign up here: www.pinterest.com. You can even sign up using your Facebook account.

Once you become a user, you can find your favorite boards and "follow" them. When you follow board or user, you will see all of their new pins on your main page.

The ESL Collaborative Board is a community board for ESL, EFL, ESOL, TESL, and TEFL. There are over 200 pins on this board from a variety of pinners, including Really Learn English. You can look at pins on this board, or you might be able to pin your own things to the board. Just email the owner to see if you can be added as a collaborator.

Another great collaborative board is Learn English. On this board you will find resources and ideas for learning English from many different pinners. Because it is a collaborative (or group) board, there is a wide variety of pins from English vocabulary to grammar rules to worksheets. If you want to join the board and share your own materials or favorite pins, you can contact the board owner. Just follow the instructions at the top of the board.

If you are looking for a huge collection of pins for English language learners, then Learn English by Rita Laura Aiazzi is one of the best places to go! On this board, you will find a variety of pins on topics such as figurative language in English, useful and common English expressions, collocations, phrasal verbs, and English tenses. With almost 1,500 pins, this board has something for everyone!

You don't want to miss this board. With over 41,000 followers, My English by Claudia Garcia is a good board to follow! Both students and teachers will find excellent language resources including pins for English grammar and vocabulary, word charts and synonyms,  and study tips for students.

5. Language: Facts, History, Uses, etc.

To really understand the English language and language learning, students should study the history of languages. Learn interesting facts and history of languages with this Pinterest board. Language: Facts, History, Uses, etc. is run by Stephanie Melton. On this board, you can find pins about the history of language, dialects, pronunciations, grammar, punctuation, ancient languages, word origins, and more.

On ESL by GCFLearnFree, you will find helpful information for non-native English speakers. Pins on this board include tips, learner tools, grammar resources, learning strategies, figurative language pages, and more. This board has over 33,000 followers! Wow!

ESL for Deaf Students is a board dedicated to deaf English language learners. On this board you will find many printable graphics, emotion charts, sign language links, and many printable worksheets for English vocabulary.

8. ESC Region 17 Bilingual/ESL

You don't want to miss this! This is not just one board, but a collection of boards by ESC Region 17 Bilingual/ESL. This Pinner has boards for language learners of all levels and all subject areas including dual language resources. There are over 2,500 pins organized onto 56 different boards. Most of the boards are even organized by grade levels.

Here is another great pinner with many helpful boards. The boards ESL Teachers are run by eslteachersunited.org, but this is a great resource for learners as well as teachers. This would be a good pinner to follow if you are learning English to become an English teacher. On here, you will find boards about ESL certifications, jobs, schools, and other language resources.
