Simple Present -
Adding S to the Verb

by Thinlay Dorjee
(India)

In Simple Present Exercise number 8, questions 3 and 4, the answers were as follows:

3. He does not bring (not bring) gifts.
4. She does not take (not take) pictures.

But here "bring" and "take" seem to be verbs, so if these are verbs, then is it wrong to add "s" to them? E.g. brings and takes.

Ola's answer:

If you use "does" then you shouldn't add "s" to the verbs:

Incorrect: Jane walk home.
Correct: Jane walks home.

Incorrect: Jane doesn't walks home.
Correct: Jane doesn't walk home.
Correct: Does Jane walk home?
