Which one would be correct?

"I am waiting under the building."

OR

"I am waiting below the building."

Please explain the difference in meaning between "under" and "below" in such cases.

Both sentences would be correct.

Under and below are synonyms, meaning they have almost the same meaning.

"I am waiting under the building" and "I am waiting below the building" basically have the same meaning.
